Early Half Dollars
1806 50C 6 Over Inverted 6, O-111a, T-11, R.4, XF40 NGC. The popular blundered date variety commands a significant premium. The inverted digit is readily observed above the loop of the 6, and west of its base. The scarce intermediate die state with a cud over the E in UNITED, but without a second cud above UN. A richly toned example bathed in russet-brown, steel-gray, and lavender shades. Both sides are refreshingly unmarked, though a hint of struck-in grease is noted near the arrow shafts.
