Bust Half Dollars
1818 50C O-109a, R.1, MS63 NGC. The 1s in the date are higher than the adjacent 8s, and the N in UNITED is higher than the U and I beside. This is a late die state example with bold clashing on both sides and a die crack through TED STATES. Scintillating luster shines from this Select Uncirculated half dollar. The centers are mainly brilliant with pale lilac, gold, and ice-blue accents around the peripheries. The obverse is boldly struck, while the wing tips and olive leaves display a hint of softness. Exemplary eye appeal and remarkably smooth for the grade. Census (all 1818 die pairs): 18 in 63, 28 finer (2/17).
