Bust Half Dollars
1834 50C Small Date, Small Letters, O-112, R.3, MS62 PCGS Secure. Ex: Link. Several shield lines extend into the horizontal lines above, and the letters TATE of STATES have an unusual up-and-down configuration with the A too high, the second T about level with A, and the E once again too high. On the obverse, Liberty's upper lip shows a disparaging curl, a smirk of sorts. The strike is sharp in most areas, but less so on the scroll and Liberty's top-most cap folds. Attractive golden-gray toning with blue overtones covers both sides of this glossy and appealing half. Few marks of any kind are visible even with a lens.
