Reeded Edge Half Dollars
1837 50C GR-24, R.2, MS64 NGC. A coruscating and carefully preserved representative of this short-lived Bust subtype. Golden-brown and lilac toning adorns the borders. The strike is sharp at the centers, though a few stars shows softness. A small area of ebony patina is noted near star 11. GR-24 is a variety familiar to specialists, best identified by delicate die lines above the eagle's left (facing) shoulder.
