1838 50C GR-10, R.3, MS63 PCGS. Die markers include a recut 8 and a small tine inside the N in UNITED. This is a late die state with extensive cracks throughout the reverse. The Reeded Edge half dollar reference notes that this is a difficult variety to find in original Mint State grades. This MS63 example is tied for finest on the Condition Census for GR-10. An undeniably untouched Select representative, each side is toned in eye-appealing shades of violet, blue, green, and gold. Luster emanates from beneath the toning. Well-defined with only a few light marks beneath the chin, now toned over.
