1850 50C Repunched Date, WB-102, AU55 PCGS. The 0 in the date is repunched southeast. The date is also lightly strike doubled south. Any 1850 half dollar is scarce, since much of the mintage of 227,000 pieces was melted by antebellum bullion speculators. This lightly circulated example has a whisper of gold toning and a paucity of relevant marks. Population: 14 in 55, 39 finer (2/17).
