1793 1C Wreath, Vine and Bars Edge, S-8, B-13, R.3, VF30 PCGS. A pleasing VF30 specimen of this important first-year issue. Thin leaves pointing right, a triangular ribbon bow, and the beginnings of a diagonal bulge inside the wreath on the reverse are diagnostic of the popular Sheldon-8 Guide Book variety. The lightly worn high points feature attractive rose-gray color, leaving the fields and lower-relief areas with a pleasing layer of steel-blue patina. Strongly defined and well-centered without any distracting flaws. Housed in a green label holder. Our EAC grade Fine 15. Population: 1 in 30, 11 finer (2/17).
