Bust Dimes
1824/2 10C Flat Top 1, JR-1, R.3, MS64 PCGS. Deep autumn-brown, lavender, and gunmetal-gray toning embraces this Choice Capped Bust dime. Smooth aside from a hair-thin line on the cheek and an interesting mint-made strike-through near stars 11 to 13. The strike is sharp at the borders although the centers are incompletely impressed. Only two 1824-dated John Reich varieties are known, struck from the same overdated obverse die. The overdate feature is plain to the unaided eye. Population (both varieties included): 8 in 64, 3 finer (2/17).
