Early Half Dollars
1794 50C O-101a, T-7, High R.3, Fine 12 PCGS. Tompkins Die Stages 1/4. The usually seen variety is attributed by star 1 through the lowest curl, star 9 away from the Y, and the leaf tip between OF. Die cracks extend from the rim through (O)F to the leaves below, and from the rim left of S(TATES) to the leaf. This is an ideal opportunity to obtain a problem-free, first-year half dollar bearing the famous 1794 date. Each side is lavender-gray with clear outlines of Liberty and the eagle. Partial hair and feather detail remains. The stars and legends are clearly readable, and the centering is good. A small, horizontal mark is noted over the ear.
