Bust Half Dollars
1814 50C O-103, R.1 -- 5% Off-Center -- XF45 PCGS. Close examination shows three separate strikes. A row of dentils from the first strike is apparent near the top of Liberty's cap, and the upper obverse dentils are doubled. The first strike was off center toward 6:30, and the next two strikes were off center toward 5:30. This is the distinctive Overton-103 variety with a vertical "bar" between the scroll and left (facing) wing. Sea-green and chestnut-gold toning visits lightly abraded surfaces.
