Barber Half Dollars
1901-S 50C MS63 PCGS. The stars, right shield corner, and fletchings are fully defined on this brilliant and lustrous Select half dollar. There are a couple of prominent marks on the cheek and shield, and a few planchet flakes occur near the tip of the bust and above the R in DOLLAR. The 1901-S is a better date in the series, in part because of its famous quarter dollar counterpart, but also because of its relatively low mintage of 847,044 coins. Mint State examples are among the scarcest Barber halves. Population: 9 in 63, 20 finer (2/17).
