Walking Liberty Half Dollars
1917-D 50C Reverse MS64+ PCGS. CAC. The 1917-D Reverse Mintmark is scarcer than its Obverse Mintmark counterpart in the upper levels of Mint State even though its mintage is significantly higher. Apparently the novelty of the mintmark on the obverse and its being dropped midway through 1917 caused many to set aside those coins. Magnification brings out occasional wisps of russet on both sides of this near-Gem Walker, and an bold strike leaves strong definition on the design features. A few light obverse marks prevents Gem status.
