1929-S 50C MS66 PCGS. Perhaps the coin was once purchased at face value from the Treasury Department, a commonplace occurrence into the early 1930s. Today, it is conditionally scarce in Gem condition and downright rare in MS66. This is a vibrantly lustrous and sharp example with brilliant centers. Complementary lilac and amber-gold shades appear at the margins. The strike is impressive for the San Francisco issue. Population: 54 in 66 (1 in 66+), 1 finer (2/17).
