Proof Walking Liberty Half Dollars
1942 50C PR68 ★ NGC. There are merely seven Walking Liberty half dollar dates struck in proof format, and the 1942 is the final and most collectible among them. The Mint manufactured 21,120 proof specimens for collectors in 1942, and they remain accessible through this outstanding level of preservation, but finer coins are very rare. This PR68 ★ representative is brilliant with blushes of powder-blue color. Reflective fields, fully struck design elements, and the lack of contact marks explain the tremendous visual quality. NGC has graded eight numerically finer examples (2/17).
