1795 $1 Draped Bust, Off-Center, B-14, BB-51, R.2 -- Cleaning -- PCGS Genuine. AU Details. Bowers Die State II. This is a late die state example of the Mint's initial implementation of the Draped Bust design, paired with a newly styled Small Eagle reverse. The portrait was set too far left in the die for BB-51, which was soon corrected on the Centered Bust BB-52 variety. Faint die clash lines are visible around OF on the reverse to confirm the late die stage. The present example was once cleaned, resulting in areas of deep, umber-gray that alternate with patches of light, silver-gray color. Small nicks and light lines suggest brief circulation on this sharply defined example.
