1799 $1 8x5 Stars, B-23, BB-159, R.3, AU50 NGC. Bowers-Borckardt Die State I. The popular BB-159 variety is easily identified by the distinctive 8x5 star arrangement on the obverse. This impressive AU example shows a slight trace of wear on the bust shoulder and hair to the left of the forehead, but most interior design detail remains intact. Shades of golden-brown, blue-steel, and slate-gray toning blanket the lightly abraded surfaces.
