1846-O $1 MS61 NGC. OC-1, R.2. Osburn-Cushing Die State a/a. An important Mint State example of this low-mintage issue, the first of the series from the New Orleans Mint. The satiny surfaces are essentially brilliant and display fewer marks than anticipated for the grade. All 59,000 pieces were coined from the same pair of dies. Census: 5 in 61, 11 finer (1/17).
