Seated Dollars
1861 $1 MS63 PCGS. CAC. The 1861 Seated dollar is a slightly scarcer issue, as are many dates from the Civil War period, and is especially elusive in Mint State. This Select example is undeniably original with rich luster shining through deep olive-gold and russet-amber toning on the obverse and a light champagne hue on the reverse. The strike is bold, and a few trivial abrasions are hidden beneath the patina. Population: 14 in 63, 30 finer. CAC: 3 in 63, 6 finer (2/17).
