1881-S $1 MS68+ NGC. The 1881-S is famously available in high grades with a couple of MS69 coins extant, but that does not in any way diminish the amazing quality of this MS68+ Morgan dollar. Aside from a blush of peach-gold and cobalt-blue toning at the upper-right reverse border, the surfaces of this practically flawless Superb Gem are brilliant. Frosty luster and full strike detail are additional attributes. This is one of five MS68+ examples at NGC, and there is a single coin graded higher (2/17).
