1886 $1 Doubled Arrows, VAM-17, MS67 Prooflike PCGS. A Top 100 Variety. Although undesignated as such on the PCGS insert, this is the well-known variety that shows die doubling to the south on the shaft and fletchings of the lowest arrowhead. As of (3/17), PCGS has certified two examples as MS67, and one as MS67+, but none above the MS65 level as either Prooflike or Deep Mirror Prooflike. Light to medium peach patina graces the borders of this lustrous and essentially immaculate Superb Gem. The strike is intricate, although the reverse field has a slightly dimpled appearance, as struck on a planchet that was textured on one side.
