Morgan Dollars
1887-S/S $1 VAM-2 MS64 Deep Mirror Prooflike PCGS. A Top 100 Variety. Undesignated as such on the PCGS holder, but the serif and lower curve of an errant mintmark impression reside within the mintmark. This is the early die state with normal denticles beneath the date. Brilliant and flashy with a good strike. Uncirculated 1887-S dollars are fairly easy to secure, but Deep Mirror Prooflike pieces are very scarce. PCGS has certified five DMPL examples as VAM-2, with the single finest at the MS64 level (3/17).
