Morgan Dollars
1893-S $1 AU53 NGC. David Bowers writes in Silver Dollars and Trade Dollars of the United States that: "It may have been that tens of thousands of 1893-S dollars were melted under terms of the 1918 Pittman Act. Still many thousands were released into circulation." This lightly circulated example retains a decent amount of luster and whispers of light tan color around the borders. Partially prooflike fields establish mild contrast with the well-defined motifs. A few minute marks on the cheek, neck, and left obverse field are consistent with the grade and do not detract.
