1903-S $1 MS63 Prooflike NGC. The 1903-S is rare with a Prooflike designation. This vibrantly toned specimen displays teal, cobalt-blue, rose, and gray toning throughout the surfaces. Several tiny abrasions blend well with the deep patina. One would think the depth of toning seen over the surfaces of this piece would subdue any prooflikeness. Not so. The mirrored finish flashes brightly through the layers of color, confirming the Prooflike designation. The strike is bold throughout. Census: 1 in 63 Prooflike, 5 finer (2/17).
