Indian Half Eagles
1916-S $5 MS64 PCGS. San Francisco Mint personnel manufactured 240,00 half eagles in 1916, the last year five dollar gold pieces were struck at that facility. Choice Uncirculated examples are very scarce. Those searching for a Gem should expect to pay roughly twice as much as this lovely MS64. A typically strong strike, frosty luster, and blended orange and rose-gold hues grace each side. Microscopic ticks fail to detract. PCGS has only seen 15 finer submissions (2/17).
