Indian Eagles
1914-S $10 MS64 PCGS. Serious collectors of Indian gold recognize the 1914-S eagle as one of the most conditionally challenging issues in the entire ten dollar series. While blessed with an abundance of eye appeal and a customary sharp strike, the grade-limiting factors are abrasions and bagmarks. This near-Gem example is vibrantly lustrous with razor-sharp definition and fantastic, coppery-orange color. Rich lilac overtones add a distinctive flair. Marks are limited to a few tiny ticks on the eagle and a short, microscopic nick on the chin. A finer grade may be in the offing. Population: 66 in 64 (3 in 64+), 13 finer (2/17).
