Liberty Double Eagles
1875-CC $20 MS61 PCGS. Variety 1-B. The 1875-CC is often regarded as a common date in the context of Carson City double eagles, although if a Mint State coin from this mint is desired, the 1875-CC represents one of only a few dates within the grasp of many collectors. This MS61 coin is about average for an Uncirculated 1875-CC with regards to numeric grade, but the eye appeal far exceeds expectations. Each side displays vibrant, frosty yellow-gold luster and bold design elements, and grade-limiting abrasions are relatively light and dispersed. The coin stands in stark contrast to the typical low-end Mint State representative, which would show heavy, deep abrasions and areas of faint high-point rub.
