1798 $1 Large Eagle, Pointed 9, Close Date, B-31, BB-115, R.4 -- Cleaning -- PCGS Genuine. VF Details. Bowers-Borckardt Die State I. Identified by the Pointed 9 in the date and the position of the star's ray pointing to the right side of B in PLURIBUS, the BB-115 is one of the scarcer varieties of this date. It was unknown to early researchers, like John W. Haseltine and John Colvin Randall. This lightly abraded specimen retains much interior design detail on the major devices, but the left side of the drapery is worn smooth and the surfaces have an unnatural sheen, due to a cleaning in the past.
