1846-O $1 AU55 PCGS. OC-1. Seated dollars were struck in New Orleans on a very limited and sporadic basis. The 1846-O is the debut issue from the Southern facility, and its coinage amounted to only 59,000 pieces. This Choice AU example displays virtually complete detail but with a trace of friction that precludes Mint State status. The surfaces are bright and partially reflective with minimal abrasions. Population: 30 in 55, 43 finer (1/17).
