Seated Dollars
1870 $1 MS63 PCGS. OC-6, Repunched 0, R.2. Osburn-Cushing Die State a/a. Repunching is visible on the inside top loop of 0 in the date. With one of the higher mintages among all Seated dollars, the 1870 is more available than many other Philadelphia issues in the series. This Select Uncirculated example displays strong contrast between the white and frosted central motifs and the surrounding fields, which show forest-green, aqua, and olive-gold shades over silver-gray toning. Cherry-red accents appear at the borders. The coin is sharply struck and visually impressive, with only a few scattered marks that define the grade. Population: 30 in 63 (3 in 63+), 22 finer (2/17).
