Seated Dollars
1873-CC $1 -- Plugged -- PCGS Genuine. VF Details. OC-1, High R.4. A rather obvious plugged hole nearly eradicates star 8 and the O in DOL., although this coin was mercifully spared from the extensive tooling that typically accompanies such a repair. The coin is evenly worn with pleasing pewter-gray toning and well-detailed motifs. A small rim nick appears at 3 o'clock on the reverse. The BER in LIBERTY is mostly worn away. The 1873-CC is the scarcest Carson City issue of this type, coming from a mintage of only 2,300 coins. Examples in any condition are scarce.
