Proof Seated Dollars
1867 $1 PR63 PCGS. OC-P1, R.3. Gentle tints of gold and ivory-gray toning grace unperturbed mirror fields. An impressive, needle-sharp specimen with the eye appeal of a finer grade. Business strikes of this date are difficult in Mint State, which is not surprising given the low production of 46,900 pieces. Many numismatists select a proof instead, although these are also scarce, since a scant 625 proofs were struck.
