1879-CC $1 Capped Die, VAM-3A, AU50 PCGS. A Top 100 Variety. VAM-3A is the scarce late die state of the "Capped Die" VAM-3, identified by a broad die line through the base of the AM in AMERICA. The mintmark exhibits a profusion of minute die chips, characteristic of the Guide Book variety. This lightly circulated pearl-gray example lacks relevant abrasions and is certain to please the advanced collector.
