1880/79-CC $1 Reverse of 1878, VAM-4, Top 100, MS65 PCGS. A Top 100 Variety. The bold overdate feature is highly desirable on this VAM variety. The present coin displays intensely frosted original mint luster with wisps of light golden toning around the borders. Both sides are largely devoid of even minor surface contact, although a few tiny marks below Liberty's eye deny a finer grade from PCGS. Nonetheless, eye appeal far exceeds that of most other Gem-graded 1880/79-CC dollars known. Housed in a first generation holder.
