1887-S $1 MS65 PCGS. Gem-quality 1887-S dollars are elusive, and finer pieces are genuinely rare. This is an attractive and sharply struck MS65 with delightful lilac and pale gold toning on both sides. The surfaces are exceptional, and the quality is virtually unimprovable. PCGS reports 33 finer coins, NGC just nine (2/17).
