Morgan Dollars
1896-O $1 MS61 PCGS. VAM-7. A lustrous example of the noted New Orleans conditional rarity. The cheek and the reverse are smooth though the obverse field displays several wispy pinscratches. The 9 and 6 of the date are strongly doubled at the bottom and the mintmark leans slightly left, all characteristics of the VAM-7 variety. The date is positioned far to the left, diagnostic of the variety. Housed in an old green label holder.
