1922 50C Grant With Star MS65 NGC. For decades, a sharply struck Grant with Star in Gem condition has challenged collectors. Many coins were sold to the general public and subsequently mishandled in one way or another. Fortunately, the present coin remains in full Gem condition, carefully preserved and refreshingly original. The MS65 grade is not impossible to obtain, but for the Grant with Star, it is scarce both by demand and condition. This example shows an excellent strike and the surfaces display pale orange-gold toning spread evenly over each side. NGC reports just 70 numerically finer coins (2/17).
