GSA Dollars
1879-CC $1 GSA MS63 NGC. CAC. Normal Mintmark. The GSA release of the 1970s included just 4,123 examples of the 1879-CC, the final sizeable distribution from an original mintage of 756,000 pieces. This Select coin is one of the better representatives of the GSA hoard with mostly brilliant with lustrous, semireflective fields. A crescent of pale gold toning at the lower reverse joins thickly frosted devices for nice eye appeal. Numerous small abrasions chronicle the rough handling, transport, and long storage in Mint-sewn bags. Band-certified by NGC with CAC endorsement, in its original GSA holder and box with numbered certificate. Census (GSA Hoard coins): 258 in 63 (11 in 63+, 3 in 63★), 113 finer (2/17).
