1869 50C Standard Silver Half Dollar, Judd-748, Pollock-831, R.5, PR61 PCGS. Standard Silver design with a bust of Liberty facing right on the obverse. Liberty is wearing a diadem inscribed LIBERTY, the legend is around the border, and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST is on a scroll at the bottom. The reverse exhibits the denomination 50 CENTS within a wreath of oak and laurel. STANDARD SILVER is at the periphery, the date 1869 is below the wreath. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. A few delicate lines exist beneath mirrored shades of blue and pale-umber toning. Housed in an old green label holder, the sharp motifs on this example exhibit cameo contrast that is undesignated on the previous generation PCGS slab. Population: 2 in 61, 41 finer (1/17).
