1759 (1999) $1 Martha Washington Dollar, Judd-2185, Pollock-Unlisted, Low R.7, MS65 NGC. The Martha Washington design, previously used to test clad coinage circa 1965, was revived in 1999 to test "golden" alloys for the pending Sacagawea dollar. Unlike the coin above, this piece lacks the "N" and "N" designation that indicates a non-manganese alloy. A sticker accompanies with the specific alloy composition of the piece: 73% copper / 24% zinc / 2% nickel / 1% manganese. Plain edge. Slightly different in hue from the piece above, this example has a brighter yellow cast and the fields are semiprooflike.
