1929 $2 1/2 MS65 PCGS. The final-year 1929 issue is somewhat available in Mint State grades up to MS64, but it is scarce in Gem condition and very rare in Premium Gem. This is an outstanding Gem coin. Bright mint luster illuminates variegated toning -- primarily orange-gold, but with lemon-gold, red, and lilac shades that combine for abundant eye appeal. The strike is quite sharp, while a few incidental, light marks are the sole factors that resist an even finer grade. PCGS lists just four numerically finer pieces (2/17).
