Liberty Eagles
1860 $10 AU55 PCGS. Despite a low mintage of 15,055 pieces, the 1860 eagle is known from two different hubs, known as the Rounded Bun and Bulging Bun. The present coin is a Bulging Bun variety with six folds in the central hairbun. The coin displays pleasing definition and luster for the Choice About Uncirculated level. We note a few minor orange alloy spots and thin marks that often accompany the issue, as well as light abrasions from transport and brief circulation. Population: 19 in 55, 15 finer (2/17).
