Liberty Double Eagles
1876-CC $20 -- Improperly Cleaned -- NGC Details. AU. Exported in large quantities when minted, the 1876-CC has since returned to collector's hands in quantity. This example -- although cleaned with the inevitable fine lines visible primarily on the obverse -- is otherwise pleasing with traces of mint luster at the borders. Orange-gold color typical of Carson City double eagles from the 1870s remains. Tiny abrasions and a few dark, carbonlike flecks are noted.
