Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles
1923-D $20 MS66 PCGS. The 1923-D was sent overseas in large quantities, avoiding the mass meltings suffered by other branch mint double eagle issues from the 1920s. Examples are readily accessible through MS66, though they become excessively scarce in MS67, and are well-known for their excellent production quality. This needle-sharp twenty dollar gold piece offers swirling luster over luminous peach-gold surfaces. A diagonal tick on Liberty's chest defines the grade. Fantastic visual appeal.
