1874/3 50C Indian Octagonal 50 Cents, BG-943, High R.4, MS66 Prooflike NGC. A lovely caramel-gold Premium Gem. The mirrored fields are undisturbed. The central reverse shows minor inexactness of strike. A BG-unlisted late die state. The obverse border was lapped, effacing much of the final star. The dentils are thinner, and likely re-engraved by the maker. The reverse exhibits several delicate die cracks. Census: 1 in 66 Prooflike, 1 finer (2/17).
