Italy. Northern Apulia, Salapia. AE 13.5 mm. c. 225-210 BC. Obv. Head of Athena right, wearing Corinthian helmet; to left, star and ΣAΛ. Rev. Owl standing right, head facing; to left, club. Unpublished in the standard references. AE. g. 3.28 Irregular flan. Dark green patina with reddish-brown spots. Good VF. Extremely rare, apparently the second specimen known. Cf. CNG 327, lot 123 (sold for $ 750).
