SAMANID, NUH B. NASR (331-341h), Dinar, without mint-name, 340h. OBVERSE: In margin: al-dinar in mint/date formula slightly blundered with one extra 'tooth', and with scroll-ornament above sanat. WEIGHT: 4.12g. CONDITION: Minor edge marks, very fine to good very fine and very rare. It has also been suggested that the mint legend should be read duriba hadha al-dinar bi-Lur sanat..., but this presents two problems: the word dinar would then have to be written without a long alif (which would differ from the spelling found on Samanid dinars struck in Naysabur during this year), while the name Lur would lack the usual long u and simply be written l-r.
