ISLAMIC, Umayyad Caliphate. al-Muhallab ibn Abi Sufra. Zibayrid governor, circa AH 75-79 / AD 694-698. AR Drachm (31.5mm, 3.93 g, 9h). Arab-Sasanian type. BYŠ (Bīshāpūr) mint. Dated AH 75 in Pahlavi (AD 694/5). Crowned bust right; in outer margin to right, bismillah in Arabic, followed by ::, mw in Pahlavi to left / Fire altar with ribbons and attendants; star and crescent flanking flamesa. SICA 1 207; Walker, Arab-Sasanian, 221-3; Album 31; ICV 39. Good VF, light scratches in obverse margin.
