ANCIENT THEMES. Lucius Verus. AD 161-169. Æ "Sestertius" (37mm, 30.24 g, 2h). Electrotype copy of a Paduan type by Giovanni da Cavino, 1500-1570. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed right / Argus seated right on low basis, working on bow of Argo; to right, Minerva standing left, directing him and holding shield inscribed VIC/AV/G; behind, stone building with arched entry. Cf. Martini & Johnson 1749/1725 (obv./rev., for original and after casts). EF, brown patina. An attractive struck example.
