Falkland Islands Government of the Falkland Islands 50 Pence 20.2.1974 Pick 10b, Two Consecutive Examples. An attractive pair of otherwise common notes from the Falkland Islands that represent the last two notes issued for this series and denomination. The two pieces bear serial numbers D69999 and D70000 with the first note also having the typewritten inscription: "Certified that this is the second-last 50 pence note to be issued by the Government of the Falklands Islands. 19 October 1982." While serial number 1 notes are relatively common due to many being saved, "last notes" were usually just placed into circulation with no thought given to setting them aside. Also, considering that these notes were issued shortly after the conclusion of the 1982 Falklands War, they would make an interesting addition to a collection of British Commonwealth material.
