SICILY, Syracuse. Second Democracy. 466-405 BC. AR Tetradrachm (25mm, 17.17 g, 6h). Obverse die signed by Eu(menes), reverse die signed by Eu(kleidas). Struck circa 413-405 BC. Charioteer, holding kentron in extended right hand and reins in both, driving fast quadriga left; above, Nike flying right, crowning charioteer with wreath held in both hands; EV below; in exergue, dolphin and tunny right / Head of Arethousa left, wearing hoop earring and pearl necklace; ΣYPAKOΣIOИ above, EV below, four dolphins swimming around. Tudeer 31 (V11/R21); HGC 2, 1328; SNG ANS 262; SNG Lloyd 1372; BMC 147; McClean 2708 (all from the same dies). VF, toned, slightly off center, die shift and light cleaning marks on reverse.
